Salvation
Army Golden Diners
Monday through Friday
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The
mission of the Salvation Army Golden Diners Nutrition Program is to
promote independent living and improve the health of senior citizens
through the gifts of love, fellowship and spiritual support. The
Program offers a choice of services:
Deli Dining Center provides seniors a nutritious meal and
the opportunity to socialize with other seniors. Deli-style
service offers members a choice of soup, salad, sandwiches or a hot entree
and dessert. Health and wellness information is also made
available.
Home Delivered Meal Program provides home-bound seniors
with hot nutritious meals which are delivered by Salvation Army
employees and volun-teers . The meal delivery also provides a
vital "well-being check" to assure that all is well in
the life of our home-bound members.
The Golden Diners Nutrition Program is open to all seniors 60 years of age and older. Membership is free and there are no income requirements.
For information and reservations call Site Manager, Mary Ann at 815-385-8260
between 11:30 am - 12:15 pm.
The Golden Diners Deli is open weekdays. A suggested donation of $3.75
per meal is requested. No one is turned away due to
inability to contribute.
The
program is subsidized by federal grants which are distributed
through the Illinois State Department on Aging and the Northeastern
Illinois Area Agency on Aging. The McHenry County Senior Referendum,
as well as local funding sources also supplement the program so that
any senior may enjoy the meals, regardless of income.
