McHenry Township residents are welcome to utilize the year-round rental opportunities available at our three community buildings: McHenry Town Hall, Whispering Hills Community Center, and McHenry Township Recreation Center. Host your entertainment at one of our facilities by reserving space for your family, organization or company event.
Each facility is available for use by both township residents and non-residents.

McHenry Township Hall is available for private parties and not-for-profit group functions. Town Hall, located at 3703 North Richmond Road, is an excellent facility for weddings and large weekend events.
The Township Hall accommodates a maximum of 200 people. Chairs and tables are available for your use, a catering kitchen, coat room, and a portable bar when you rent this facility.
Alcohol may be served (not sold) with proper insurance paperwork.
The Township’s Community Center, located at 4708 Jeffrey Street in Johnsburg (on the northeast corner of Oeffling and Jeffery Street), is ideal for a small wedding, a baby shower, an anniversary party or a family gathering.
This community hall can accommodate a maximum of 80 people. It has a full kitchen, bathrooms and parking for fifty vehicles.
The rental includes tables, chairs and the use of the kitchen appliances. Alcohol may be served (not sold) with a host liquor liability insurance form naming the Township and its officials as additional insured.
Our recreation center building, located at 3519 North Richmond Road (west of the intersection of Route 31 and Johnsburg Road), is home to: the McHenry Township Senior Center; Catholic Charities Senior Nutrition Program; and offices of Senior Services Associates of McHenry County. There are two separate sides in the Recreation Center (Lakemoor Room and the Wonder Lake Room).
McHenry Township Parks Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of our buildings and the outdoor areas. Their goal is to manage and protect the quality of the environment that provides space for a wide variety of leisure recreations that enhance the lives of our residents.
The past year the township has been going through park and building renovations and maintenance projects throughout McHenry Township’s campus! Upgrades, Improvements and repairs are being implemented on a continuing basis and will continue on portions of our campus as we accomplish various upgrades and updates.
